Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA)
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) of the City of Los Angeles is a public agency established to attract private investment into economically depressed communities; eliminate slums, abandoned or unsafe properties, and blight throughout Los Angeles; revitalize older neighborhoods through historic preservation and new development; build housing for all income levels; encourage economic development; create and retain employment opportunities; support the best in urban design, architecture and the arts; and ensure the broadest possible citizen participation in its activities.
Mollenhauer has provided civil engineering and surveying services to CRA /LA on an on-call basis for more than two decades. Examples of these services include survey and design of street improvements in Little Tokyo, survey and design of public parking lots in Hollywood, survey and design of street improvements and on-site grading for Grand-Hope Park, studies for street improvements for the Grand-Hope Promenade, and most recently the NOHO street improvement project in North Hollywood.
Little Tokyo Re-Development
Mollenhauer provided the on-site and off-site topographic survey that included the street cross sections and substructure information. Civil engineering services included on-site grading, drainage and hardscape plans, hydrology and hydraulic calculations for storm drain system, the design of street improvement plans including street lighting, traffic signals, street striping and special sidewalk hardscape, and modifications to the existing street storm drain system to comply with the new street drainage. Mollenhauer also provided the construction staking and construction administration for this project.
City of Long Beach/Port of Long Beach
On-Call Surveying
Since 1979 Mollenhauer Group has provided on-call surveying services for the City of Long Beach / Port of Long Beach. These services include title reports, boundary surveys, topography, street centerline retractment, construction surveying, lot-line adjustments and final maps.
Cal State Long Beach
Mollenhauer Group provided civil engineering services for the redesign and realignment of campus roads and designed surface parking lots for students and staff. Services also included bus transit shelters, pathways and design for an electrical substation.
Villages at Cambrillo
Mollenhauer Group provided civil engineering and surveying services for a 26-acre portion of the Naval Housing site. The project consisted of creating improvement plans along with final maps for the creation of tax credit parcels for low-income housing.
Metropolitan Transit Authority
Union Station Gateway/MTA & MWD Headquarters
Mollenhauer Group provided subdivision, land surveying, title engineering, construction surveying and civil engineering services for the development of this 14-acre site. The project is designed to provide 3,300 spaces of underground parking, a bus plaza interlinking with Union Station and Metro Rail, MTA and MWD Headquarters and four future sites for commercial development. Mollenhauer Group’s services also included the design and coordination for the realignment of Vignes Street, street improvements of Cesar Chavez Avenue, Lyon and Ramirez Streets, the realignment of underground utilities and design of the Metro Bus Plaza and on-site grading and drainage.
Del Mar Station, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority
Del Mar Station, located adjacent to Pasadena’s Central Park and near the historic Green Hotel, is one of the Metro Rail Gold Line light rail stops between downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena. The Transit Oriented Development (TOD) surrounding the station accommodates 350 housing units, 20,000 sq ft of commercial area, and 1,200 cars.
On this project Mollenhauer Group provided soldier beam and shotcrete wall monitoring as well as civil engineering services for off-street improvements.
