Hollywood & Highland
Located in the heart of historic Hollywood, the Hollywood and Highland complex and Kodak Theater have achieved worldwide recognition, hosting a wide range of prestigious artists and events including the Academy Awards, the American Ballet Theater, the ESPY awards and the “American Idol” television show. In addition to the theater, the development includes restaurants, retail space, and a subterranean parking structure for three thousand cars.
The Mollenhauer Group provided a comprehensive roster of services for this project, including construction surveying and pre-construction photo documentation and monitoring, surveying and mapping for all project design and 3-D Final Record Map, creating a 3-D “visual corridor” and geodetic/GPS control for Hollywood sign visual corridor, architectural mapping & ALTA
mapping, aerial photographic mapping, and a host of civil engineering services, including the realignment of utilities to vacate Orchid Avenue, design of “B” permit street improvement plans, and design of horizontal and vertical controls for the on-site improvements.
Combining a trendy retail environment, fine dining, fast food and entertainment with a residential colony and commercial office space, Paseo Colorado is a vibrant multi-use environment adjacent to Pasadena’s historic Old Town.
Mollenhauer developed a topographic survey for plotting existing improvements, street cross-sections and underground utilities. The street improvements required relocation of existing streetlights, relocation of water service meters, traffic signal modification, and new points of connection for sanitary sewer, water and storm drains.
Plans included plan and profiles for curb and gutters, driveways, street pavement, standard and special sidewalks, street trees, street lights, traffic signals, utility vaults and, where applicable, street accessories such as benches and bus shelters. Also included were process plans for plan check and approvals, assistance in obtaining construction permits, coordination with public agencies, city departments and utility companies, and construction administration services through the completion of construction and preparation of “As-Built” documents.
Sunset & Vine
The Sunset and Vine complex is an exciting and imaginative aggregation of retail and residential space. Located in the heart of Hollywood, it also provides a new home for the late and lamented Schwab’s pharmacy, the legendary meeting place.
Mollenhauer Group provided a comprehensive array of services for this project, including complete subdivision surveying and mapping, tentative and final tract mapping, and ALTA surveying and as-built surveying and mapping. Construction surveying included staking all major gridlines, shoring, pile caps, anchor bolts and monitoring of soldier beams.
